Bald Head Island Club - Ocean Terrace

Many couples and families who come to the Bald Head Island Club to tour our various event spaces fall in love with the Ocean Room & Terrace - understandably so. But there's always a question of whether or not to use the club's tent on the Ocean Terrace. We have it available for guests use, but we typically have the tent down unless an event has requested it.

Personally, I absolutely love the elegant look and comforting feel the tent provides so I always recommend it. But it's definitely a personal choice. One of my favorite images of the tent being used on our Ocean Terrace is from photographer Millie Holloman. She captured this beautiful moment just over a year ago and it honestly takes my breath away each time I see it. I even have a copy of it hanging in my office! I hope you'll enjoy the image just as much as I do and hopefully this will help future couples in their tent decision making!

A fall wedding on Bald Head Island

Fall Weddings are some of my absolute favorite weddings. The air is just beginning to cool but yet it's still warm enough for a combination indoor/outdoor reception. The floral arrangements begin shifting from the summery pastels to those beautiful crimsons, oranges and deep purples. It's almost the holiday season, but not quite and yet here we are with yet another reason to celebrate and a September wedding at the Bald Head Island Club is hard to beat.

This September the Bald Head Island Club was host to one of the most beautiful couples, Blake & Julie Hollingsworth. The groom's calm, endearing personality was enough to make almost any woman swoon and the bride's magical glow lit up the entire occasion.

The couple's photographers, Lindsey & Craig - from Sposa Bella Photography, were kind enough to send me a few images from the evening so I had to share. These two were amazing to work with and their images are absolutely stunning!

Blake & Julie were married on Saturday September 18, 2010 at the Village Chapel on Bald Head Island. Julie's bridemaids wore vibrant turquoise gowns which matched perfectly with the groomsmen's turquoise vests.

Keeping with the islands beach ceremony, Julie & Blake had the experts at Crumb de la Crumb design a charming soft blue and sea shell themed wedding cake. I didn't get a chance to taste this one, partly because I just thought it was too pretty to eat!

The team at Brunswick Town Florist provided a beautiful array of floral arrangements, from the unique centerpieces to the vibrant bouquets. I always love their work!

Guests of this beautiful couple dined on an assortment of hors d' oeuvres including the Crab Louis in a cucumber cup, sesame seared tuna on a wasabi cracker with seaweed salad & sriracha and a beef tenderloin with artichokes and blue cheese on a crostini. For dinner, guests were served a duo plate of filet mignon with a port wine reduction & cremini mushrooms and a cashew crusted grouper in a champagne cream sauce. Yum!

Eric from DJ Professionals kept the dance floor busy all night long. I really can't say enough good things about Eric. Such a professional. Such an entertainer and such a good guy. Thank you for always being so amazing out here at the Bald Head Island Club Eric!

And lastly, thank you Julie & Blake. It was such an honor to host your beautiful reception and rehearsal dinner. We all had such a great time working with you both and wish you all the happinesss and love in the years to come.
