#22 - Top 29 Favorite Things about a Bald Head Island Club Wedding!

It's LEAP DAY today! It's the 29th day of February, but I'm only on post #22 - what to do, what to do. Hum... well, in honor of this most special of days, this day that only comes once but every 4 years, I would like to share 4 very special weddings with you. What makes them so special you ask? Well, besides being fabulous brides & grooms, with fabulous taste and completely fabulous vendors, they were all fabulously featured on Style Me Pretty this year!

The Bald  Head Island Club was honored to play a part in their special day and I personally have such amazing memories from each of their weddings. These girls have class and style coming out of their fingertips and it's all the more evident when you take a look at these gorgeous features!

 Georgiana & Thad last June - a soft pallete, a floral love affair and island charm

The other thing I love about these features is how different they all are. Each a representation of the couple - their styles, their designs, their families & friends. But each a joy and pleasure to look upon.

 And just added yesterday, Brady & David's wedding from last October - Romantic Perfection in Pink

I love, love, love when our weddings are featured on Style Me Pretty because as beautiful and intimate as these weddings were for each of our couples, the images captured from these fabulous photographers are way too good to keep to themselves! #21 - Top 29 Favorite Things about a Bald Head Island Club Wedding

I can't let this month of love go by without mentioning the boys who make all of our ladies hearts skip a beat. The men who got down on one knee, and sometimes both knees, to ask for their ladies hand in marriage. The guys who are always so charming and just down-right friendly - it's no wonder they've found some of the country's sweetest, smartest, most beautiful young ladies. These guys are the very definition of a southern gentleman... and boy does it suit them well!

  

So #21 goes out to the boys, the guys, the men of Bald Head Island! Keep making our ladies happy and keep making these pics look so dang good!

#20 - Top 29 Favorite Things about a BHI Club Wedding

There is a saying on the island that you'll hear quite frequently if you're here enough... "The bubble of Bald Head," and the truth is... there is some truth to it!

Bald Head Island has been blessed (knock on wood) with beautiful weather, time and time again. On any given Saturday, the sun is out, the cool ocean breeze is just enough to cool down a typically warm July day and if it's rainy and stormy in Wilmington, it's usually just the opposite here. The island has been known to have beautiful days from January through December - in fact, I posted a pic on our facebook page last December when it was 75 degrees out! Now that's not to say that it never gets grey or rainy here, because it does every once in a while. But far less so than our neighboring towns, all thanks to that beautiful bubble.

And just to show you, here's some wedding pics from (almost) each month of the year. (We don't do many weddings in January or February so unfortunately, I have no pics to share for those two months.) But it's February 25th today and it's a beautiful sunny 60 degree day today! Perfect!

#19 - Top 29 Favorite Things about a Bald Head Island Club Wedding

The truth is, our weddings and events here at the BHI Club would not go off half as smoothly if we didn't have such an amazing staff who pour their blood, sweat and tears into making each and every wedding as absolutely perfect as can be. So today I want to dedicate this post to our hard-working banquet staff.

 They are the first to get here and spend their mornings settting up.

They even set up for ceremonies off-site! This ceremony held at the lighthouse was made possible by a couple of my favorite banquet staffers. Thanks guys!

They are the ones who make sure your food comes out hot and on time. And boy is it delicious!

They are the ones who make sure your bars are stocked with everything you've requested (and more!).

They are the last ones to get on the ferry at the end of the night, after all your guests have gone home and you are 100% married! And they always do it with a smile on their faces. They are the best in the business in my humble opinion and I couldn't do what I do without them. A very special thank you to our Banquet Captain Liza, for always making sure everything is in its place and everyone knows where to be! You are the best!

Sometimes all you need is a little sand between your toes.

A moment... to relax. To soak it all in. To enjoy this precious time between the exhanging of vows and the clinking of glasses. Right here, right now, the world is on pause. Your past is behind you and your future is just ahead. In this moment, it's just you and him... and maybe a photographer on hand to capture this pure moment of bliss. Breathe it in... 

The wonderful thing about being on an island is that we are litterally surrounded by beaches. And they are all here at your disposal to smash your little toesies into.

 Let your feet get wet even... it won't hurt I promise!

 I love this picture above... it's so odd to see a man in a tux standing in the sand but it's intriguing to me. And Chris rocks it in his sunglasses. Love.

And so my #18 blog post is dedicated to the beaches of Bald Head Island. You make for some really beautiful moments for many beautiful couples.
